Jeju Air, Jeonbuk, and Gunsan Join Hands to Revitalize Gunsan Airport... Two Daily Scheduled Flights Operated


[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Je-hoon] Jeju Air has decided to collaborate with Jeollabuk-do and Gunsan City to promote the revitalization of Gunsan Airport.


Jeju Air announced on the 4th that it signed a business agreement on the 3rd at the comprehensive situation room of the Jeonju City Hall in Jeollabuk-do to operate regular flights on the Gunsan-Jeju route and to revitalize Gunsan Airport. The signing ceremony was attended by Choi Hoon, Deputy Governor of Jeollabuk-do, Kang Im-jun, Mayor of Gunsan, and Lee Cheol-haeng, Head of External Cooperation at Jeju Air.


Jeju Air had previously planned to operate the Gunsan-Jeju route twice daily (14 times weekly) during the winter season starting from the 8th. Flights departing from Gunsan are scheduled daily at 11:10 AM and 6:00 PM, while flights departing from Jeju are scheduled daily at 10:00 AM and 4:20 PM.


Through this agreement, Jeollabuk-do and Gunsan will actively work on financial support, promotion, and creating air travel demand to revitalize Gunsan Airport. Jeju Air will also prepare to operate various domestic routes and establish and implement marketing strategies to secure air travel demand.


Additionally, Jeollabuk-do, Gunsan, and Jeju Air plan to form a consultative body involving the Korea Airports Corporation Gunsan branch and airlines operating at Gunsan Airport to cooperate in revitalizing Gunsan Airport.
