[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] Dongduk Women's University announced on the 3rd that the photo exhibition "Walk in with Nature" by Minju Lee will be held at the Dongduk Art Gallery in Insadong, Seoul, from the 4th to the 9th.
Artist Minju Lee has worked as a documentary director and cinematographer for 30 years, producing documentaries that have won numerous awards at international film festivals. She is currently a professor in the Department of Broadcasting and Entertainment at Dongduk Women's University.
In this exhibition, the artist presents various natural landscapes of Korea. She expresses nature not simply as an object of longing and observation but as a coexistence with humans. She also chose hanji, traditional Korean paper, as the printing paper. It is not handmade traditional hanji but a type of hanji made by mixing dak (mulberry bark) and pulp to create a similar texture. For this, she collaborated with Professor Seungcheol Lee from the Painting Department at the same university.
Dongduk Women's University explained that Minju Lee's perspective, viewed from a realistic standpoint, is transferred onto the hanji made from natural materials, revealing a more Korean aspect of nature. They added that this exhibition will provide a time for reflection in nature and healing for our tired minds amid busy daily lives.
