[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Juhyung] Comedian Park Ji-sun (36) was found dead along with her mother at their home in Mapo-gu, Seoul on the 2nd, shocking many. Meanwhile, a lengthy message of support written by Park’s father in the past has come to light, adding to the sorrow.
This post was written by Park’s father, Mr. A, himself on 'Naver Knowledge-iN' in September 2008, in response to a playful question from a netizen asking, "Is Park Ji-sun really a woman?"
At the time, Mr. A began by saying, "Park Ji-sun was born as a healthy baby weighing 3.1 kg through natural delivery at Bupyeong St. Mary’s Hospital on the evening of November 3, 1984, lunar calendar."
He continued, "She was always an honor student and class president throughout elementary, middle, and high school, and was a very diligent and kind student," adding, "On top of that, she had a sense of humor, so she was always popular among her friends."

Mr. A described Park’s personality, saying, "She is a comedian who greets bus drivers, and also greets the security guards at the KBS main and annex buildings well. Park Ji-sun is likely well regarded among comedian seniors and juniors because the Park Ji-sun I know is a deep, humble person who knows how to be considerate of others."
He added, "She didn’t have a signature. The only thing she ever did was draw a very cute picture for her friends since she was young," emphasizing, "Park Ji-sun never prepared to promote herself enough to practice a signature. No matter how famous she became, she was never the type to put herself forward. She is not that kind of person."
Mr. A said, "Just as she went to a good university despite hardships, I believe Park Ji-sun will overcome any adversity that comes her way," and added, "She truly loves music and is a music enthusiast. She will diligently work hard until she firmly establishes herself as a famous comedian."
Meanwhile, according to the Seoul Mapo Police Station, Park was found dead with her mother at their home in Mapo-gu, Seoul on the afternoon of the 2nd.
On that day, Mr. A found it strange that the mother and daughter were not answering their phones and reported it to the police. Upon receiving the report and dispatching officers, the police entered the house and discovered the two deceased.
It was previously reported that Park had been undergoing treatment for a chronic illness, and her mother had come to Seoul to live with her.
No external injuries were found on either of them. The police are investigating the exact circumstances of the deaths of Park and her mother.
