Seoul Reports 45 New COVID-19 Cases Yesterday... 15 Confirmed at a High School in Jongno-gu

[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] The number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in Seoul increased by 45 in one day.

According to Seoul City, as of midnight on the 1st, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Seoul increased by 45 from the previous day, bringing the total cumulative confirmed cases to 6,056.

The daily new confirmed cases in Seoul had been rising continuously from the 24th of last month with 17, 20, 24, 25, 36, 48, and 52 cases respectively, before slightly decreasing the day before.

There were 12 new confirmed cases related to a high school in Jongno-gu on that day, bringing the total to 15. Other cases included 6 related to a hospital in Songpa-gu (total 14 in Seoul), 5 related to a gym in Gangnam-gu (total 18), 3 related to Lucky Sauna in Gangnam-gu (total 34), and 2 related to a nursing facility in Dongdaemun-gu (total 10).

Additionally, there was 1 new case each related to a golf gathering in Jeju Island (total 5), Yeoksam Station in Gangnam-gu (total 4), and CJ Telenix (a derivative of Jameon Medical Devices) in Gangnam-gu (total 21).

Other sporadic cases and past cluster infections accounted for 8 cases, and 6 confirmed cases are still under investigation for their infection routes.

So far, 5,496 people in Seoul have been declared recovered and discharged, while 482 patients are currently undergoing isolation treatment.
