According to Daegu City and health authorities on the 1st, two additional confirmed cases were reported: one contact of a confirmed member of Yesu Jungshim Church in Seo-gu, Daegu, and one family member of that contact.
Accordingly, including an 80-year-old female member who was first confirmed positive on the 27th of last month, a total of 25 people have been infected over six days, consisting of 19 church members, 4 contacts, and 2 family members of contacts.
Separately, one worshiper or contact who had visited the church in Incheon and Jeonbuk respectively also tested positive.
Daegu City has completed diagnostic testing for 422 people, including 398 church members, and is conducting epidemiological investigations to identify the source of infection and additional contacts. A city official urged, "Citizens who visited this church in October must refrain from going out and get tested at the nearest public health center."
Meanwhile, as of midnight on the same day, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Daegu reached 7,176, an increase of 2 cases.
