[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Chang-won] The Government Employees Pension Service (Chairman Jeong Nam-jun) conducted social contribution activities, "Beachcombing" and "Safety Round," on the 29th along the Seogwipo Olle Trail Course 8, including Jungmun Beach and the Jungmun Tourist Complex area.
According to the Government Employees Pension Service on the 30th, "Beachcombing" refers to the activity of sweeping up trash on the beach as if raking it. The Service carried out beachcombing as a social contribution activity at Jungmun Beach, which is the Service's partner beach. Through a business agreement with the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries and Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, the Service has been designated to take responsibility for and manage beaches within Jeju Island.
Additionally, "Safety Round" involves inspecting safety hazards in daily life while touring the local community and reporting them in real-time through the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's "Safety Report" app. This activity was conducted in the Jungmun Tourist Complex and along Olle Trail Course 8.
This social contribution activity was carried out through the voluntary participation of about 20 employees. They collected marine debris from Jungmun Beach and discovered and reported dozens of safety hazard factors such as damaged pavement blocks and exposed streetlight wiring.
Jeong Nam-jun, Chairman of the Government Employees Pension Service, stated, "We will take the lead in safety and environmental protection through the cleanup activities at Jungmun Beach, our partner beach, and proactive reporting via the Safety Report app."
