TSㆍJDX Heroes secured their first victory against Blue One Angels in the opening match of the 4th round of the Shinhan Financial Investment PBA Team League (hereafter ‘PBA Team League’). With this win, TSㆍJDX Heroes became the team to have defeated every club participating in the team league.
As it was the first match of the 4th round, billiards fans and officials focused their attention on TSㆍJDX Heroes’ performance. Notably, Blue One Angels had been the only team TSㆍJDX Heroes had never beaten. In this match, TSㆍJDX Heroes put Filippos Kasidokostas (Greece) at the forefront, and the result was successful.
Kasidokostas, paired with Kim Nam-su in doubles, played with stable strokes to defeat the duo of David Zapata (Spain) and Eom Sang-pil. Kim Nam-su recorded a winning percentage of 68.2% with this match, maintaining the sole lead in overall winning percentage. In the following women’s singles, Im Mi-rae, known as the ‘future of Korean women’s billiards,’ easily defeated Blue One Angels’ Kim Gap-seon 11:6.
A new record was also set in the 3rd set men’s singles. TSㆍJDX Heroes’ Kasidokostas dominated with a high run of 9 points and an average of 3.750, comfortably defeating Blue One Angels’ Kang Min-gu with a set score of 15:4. Although the 4th set mixed doubles was narrowly lost, the 5th set men’s singles saw Robinson Morales (Colombia) beat Zapata 15:12, securing the final set score of 4:1. With this victory, TSㆍJDX Heroes maintained their sole lead with 28 points, widening the gap with 2nd place SK Renters and Winners.
TSㆍJDX Heroes’ club owner, TS Trillion CEO Jang Ki-young, said, “From the first set, we could see the confidence of the TSㆍJDX Heroes players,” adding, “Although limited, this was the first team league match where fans could visit the venue in person and share the atmosphere with the players, so I believe the players’ mindset was different.
