Chungnam Targets ASEAN Market with 'Online Export Consultation'

[Asia Economy (Hongseong) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Chungnam Province is launching an online export consultation meeting to target the ASEAN market.

The province announced on the 30th that it will recruit 15 local companies to participate in the 'Online Video Export Consultation Meeting' scheduled for December 15.

The consultation meeting was planned to replace overseas marketing projects canceled due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic and to expand export volumes to ASEAN regions such as China and the Philippines.

Participating companies can conduct video export consultations with local buyers in China and ASEAN through a video conferencing system.

They will also receive support tailored to the characteristics of non-face-to-face video consultations, such as sample overseas shipping and professional interpreter assistance.

Companies wishing to participate can apply through the province's online export support system. For more details, refer to the provincial government website or the Korea Trade Association Daejeon Chungnam Regional Headquarters website.

Kim Seok-pil, Director of the Provincial Economic Office, said, “The online consultation meeting scheduled for December is the second following the one held in Cheonan. In the previous online consultation, participating companies achieved export consultation amounts exceeding 10 million dollars,” adding, “The province will continue to spare no support to help companies pioneer overseas markets despite the COVID-19 situation.”
