[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Even if you want to leave, the reality is not easy. An online event where you color in a coloring book featuring major tourist spots in Busan will be held.

Busan City and the Busan Tourism Organization have prepared the ‘Busan Autumn Fairy Tale (畵)’ event, themed ‘Busan I Want to Visit, Busan I Miss,’ where participants add their own autumn colors to a coloring book illustrated with travel destinations.

Although it is autumn, due to COVID-19 restricting travel freedom, the city planned this event to gift domestic travel enthusiasts a stay-at-home set including a coloring book and colored pencils, allowing them to express their wishes for traveling to Busan in the bucket list inside the book.

The coloring book was produced by selecting 12 illustrations of major tourist attractions that travelers would like from the book titled ‘Drawing Busan,’ created by six illustrators from the Busan area.

Participation details can be found from October 30 on ‘Visit Busan,’ operated by the Busan Tourism Organization, as well as on Facebook (Busanegamyeon) and Instagram. After applying, about 500 participants will be selected through comment events on Busan Tourism.

Participants will upload their completed coloring pictures on social networking services (SNS), and through YouTube, videos introducing the ‘Coloring Book with Power Influencers’ will be shared. This online interactive marketing aims to deliver a message encouraging visits to Busan after COVID-19.

Along with the stay-at-home set (coloring book + colored pencils), the event will also provide experience tickets to about 30 ‘Busan City Quality Certified Cultural Experience Centers’ so participants can realize their own bucket lists on future trips to Busan.

Byun Sung-wan, Acting Mayor of Busan, said, “This event was promoted to provide healing and an opportunity to reminisce about Busan for those exhausted by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic,” adding, “In the with-COVID era, we will focus on promoting Busan tourism through various online marketing campaigns.”
