2019 Children's Fire Safety Poster Contest Grand Prize (Minister's Award) Winner 'A Small Spark That Became a Fire Hell'
[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] The National Fire Agency announced on the 30th that it will hold a contest for 'Children's Fire Safety Posters' throughout November, which is designated as the 'Fire Safety Emphasis Month.' This event aims to raise awareness about the importance of fire prevention through children's perspectives.
The contest is open to elementary school students nationwide, and the theme can be anything related to fire prevention and fire safety. Participants should submit one hand-drawn poster of size 4-cut along with an application form either by mail or in person to the nearest fire headquarters or fire station.
Each city and provincial fire headquarters will conduct a first preliminary round in early December and submit one top work from each region to the National Fire Agency. The agency will then have experts, including art professors, judge the 18 submissions and award 2 Minister of the Interior and Safety Awards, 2 National Fire Agency Commissioner Awards, and 14 Governor Awards.
The final results will be posted on the National Fire Agency's website in December, and the winning works will be used for promotional materials.
Detailed information about the contest can be found on the websites of the National Fire Agency, city and provincial fire headquarters, fire stations, as well as on the National Fire Agency's Facebook and Instagram SNS channels.
The National Fire Agency explained that the exhibition of excellent fire safety posters drawn by students has been held since 1947, and that promotional use of posters dates back to the Japanese colonial period.
