Yeosu Police Station, Collaborates with Partner Organizations to Promote "Children First! Traffic Culture" Activities

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Yeosu Police Station (Chief Moon Byung-hoon) conducted a joint traffic safety campaign on the 29th at Booyoung Elementary School in Yeoseo-dong to prevent children's traffic accidents, in collaboration with Yeosu City Hall, the Green Mothers' Association Yeosu Branch, and school executives and staff.

During the campaign, while adhering to COVID-19 prevention guidelines, the theme was "Children First! Traffic Culture," distributing promotional materials containing children's pedestrian safety rules such as ▲ not jaywalking ▲ prohibition of illegal parking ▲ driving at 30 km/h or less in school zones.

Additionally, drivers passing through the area were informed that with the enforcement of the so-called Min-sik Act, penalties for traffic accidents in school zones have been strengthened. The campaign also promoted active enforcement and guidance activities against traffic violations and illegal parking within school zones.

Moon Byung-hoon, Chief of Yeosu Police Station, stated, "Although traffic safety promotions and campaigns are inevitably limited due to COVID-19, we will do our best to spread awareness for preventing children's traffic accidents within school zones."
