[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Hwang Choi Hyun-joo] Changwon City in Gyeongnam announced on the 29th that it held the inauguration ceremony and regular meeting of the 2nd Changwon City Local Autonomy Decentralization Council.
The inauguration ceremony took place in the city hall's 3rd conference room, attended by about 20 people including Jo Young-jin, the 1st Deputy Mayor, and members of the Local Autonomy Decentralization Council.
Since its launch in August 2018, the council has been promoting various activities for local decentralization and the realization of Changwon Special City, such as the 'Local Decentralization Policy Forum,' 'Visiting Local Decentralization Academy,' and 'Local Decentralization Activation UCC Contest.'
Today's meeting was organized to appoint 2nd term members and discuss urgent issues such as the promotion of the Special City status. Based on the progress made over the two years since the council's launch and government trends related to local decentralization, various discussions were held to realize Changwon Special City.
Jo Young-jin, the 1st Deputy Mayor, responded, “We expect the Changwon City Local Autonomy Decentralization Council to play a pivotal role in realizing Changwon Special City and true local decentralization, and we will spare no administrative support for the council.”
