[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] The national comprehensive electronic procurement system, Nara Jangteo, has obtained the highest grade in Data Security Certification (DQC-S). This is significant as it is the first case among private companies and public institutions.
According to the Public Procurement Service on the 29th, Data Security Certification is conducted by the Korea Data Industry Promotion Agency, which evaluates the overall data protection technology elements of information systems built and used by private companies and public institutions, and classifies the level of data protection into four stages.
The grade received by the Public Procurement Service corresponds to the highest level, level 4. The levels are divided into level 1 access control, level 2 encryption, level 3 work approval, and level 4 vulnerability analysis.
This certification is meaningful as it is the first time the highest grade has been awarded among private companies and public institutions.
In particular, the Public Procurement Service obtained the Platinum Class in Data Quality Certification (DQC-V) in 2018 and level 4 in Data Management Certification (DQC-M) in 2019, achieving the highest domestic grade in all three data certification fields.
This means that key data such as order information, company information, and personal information used for public procurement purposes in Nara Jangteo are recognized as being safely accumulated and managed.
Currently, Nara Jangteo is used by about 60,000 public institutions and 460,000 procurement companies, and the scale of data managed reaches 365 terabytes (TB).
Baek Seung-bo, Director of Procurement Management at the Public Procurement Service, said, “The Public Procurement Service has recognized the importance of data and has operated a data management organization since 2013,” adding, “As a result of continuous efforts such as establishing data standard management and security regulations, we received the ‘Data Quality Award’ in 2015 and 2018, and the ‘Best Data Quality Management Award’ last year.”
He added, “In particular, through the next-generation Nara Jangteo construction project to be promoted from next year to 2023, we will strive to provide high-quality services to procurement companies and demand institutions by utilizing the data accumulated so far.”
