Hosted by the Social Enterprise Council (Representative Sangheon Lee), about 20 people attended the forum, including Pohang city council members, representatives of various social enterprises, and experts related to the forum from various fields.
Pohang City is currently conducting briefing sessions and promotional events to pioneer public sales channels for social enterprise products, study tours to advanced social economy sites and workshops to activate networks, and social enterprise unity events.
Recently, as urban regeneration issues such as "Saving Our Neighborhood" have emerged as major national agenda items, Pohang City explained that they are seeking social economy and various cooperation measures as alternatives to complement various side effects such as gentrification occurring in urban regeneration New Deal projects and to ensure the sustainability of the projects.
Kim Jongsik, Director of the Pohang City Job and Economy Office, said, "The forum held today was a very meaningful discussion venue where social enterprises participated in the urban regeneration New Deal project to realize social value and jointly seek regional growth engines," adding, "We will strive to ensure that the urban regeneration New Deal project can produce synergistic effects through win-win cooperation between the social economy and local resident councils."
