Goheung-gun Conducts Training on Understanding 'Contract Review, Routine, and Specific Audits' Tasks

[Goheung=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] On the 27th, Goheung County in Jeollanam-do announced on the 28th that it conducted an education session titled ‘Understanding Contract Review, Routine and Specific Audit Tasks’ for 55 key project ordering practitioners in the county at the Songsunseop Room of the Goheung Cultural Center.

On this day, Dr. Jeong Ki-chang, President of the Korea Construction Convergence Research Institute, was invited to provide training on ‘Cost Calculation Methods According to Contract Review,’ delivering lectures in the order of characteristics and system of public contracts, understanding construction cost components, and practical contract amount adjustment.

Following this, the head of the verification evaluation team emphasized quality control at each construction stage, sound construction, safety management, and integrity implementation by covering key processes subject to on-site verification, precautions before, during, and after construction, construction accident risk factors, sector-specific pointed cases, corruption vulnerability factors, and sanctions.

The county is promoting its own policies such as operating a design consultation window before contract review, managing a data room within the administrative portal, and conducting semiannual self-inspections on the implementation status of contract reviews and routine audits.

Deputy County Governor Jeong Sang-dong said in his greeting, “Although this is a busy period due to project promotion, cost estimation is important, and I understand that cost analysis is difficult, so I hope this lecture will be very helpful in practical work.”

A county official stated, “Through this education, we hope it will serve as an opportunity to lead budget savings, prevent poor construction and safety accidents, comply with administrative procedures, and prioritize public interest while promoting integrity in administration by mastering project management and supervision tasks.”

Meanwhile, since July last year, Goheung County’s Government Innovation Group’s Verification Evaluation Team has been in charge of contract review, routine audits, and specific audits to improve efficiency. In December, they published the ‘2020 Contract Review Work Manual,’ and in May, they produced and distributed the ‘Construction Work Poor Construction Prevention Work Manual,’ while operating mobile inspections for construction work and a poor construction reporting center.
