Gwangyang City Women's Association "Kids, Let's Eat and Go to School!"

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] The Gwangyang City Women's Association (President Kim Ji-yeon) conducted a healthy family creation campaign on the morning of the 28th by distributing gimbap to students attending three high schools.

This event, promoted as a work-family balance and family-friendly project, will be held a total of 14 times targeting seven high schools in the region (excluding boarding schools) from Gwangyang Girls' High School, Baegun High School, and Jecheol High School until the 12th of next month.

Last year, the association conducted the campaign targeting about 1,600 students at eight middle schools, and this year it has expanded to high school students, delivering warm motherly hearts with gimbap sharing and the message "Have a happy day."

Kim Ji-yeon, president of the Gwangyang City Women's Association, said, "It was heartwarming to see students, who had been attending both online and in-person classes due to COVID-19, happily receiving delicious gimbap as they all returned to school," adding, "We will continue to promote various campaigns for students."

Choi Suk-jwa, head of the Women's and Family Division, said, "Despite difficulties in activities due to COVID-19, the Gwangyang City Women's Association contributed talents by making masks and assisting with the reception of disaster relief funds from Gwangyang City and the government," adding, "Seeing women's organizations working together to overcome the crisis and approach citizens raises expectations for future activities."
