[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] NeoFact, a medical solution specialist company, has joined the 'Industrial Digital Transformation Alliance' led by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.
On the 28th, NeoFact announced that CEO Ban Ho-young attended the launch ceremony of the Industrial Digital Transformation Alliance held at Dragon City Hotel in Yongsan-gu, Seoul.
About 150 companies and institutions from six business sectors including healthcare, future vehicles, home appliances & electronics, distribution logistics, materials & components, and shipbuilding formed 17 teams to participate in this alliance. Healthcare alliance participants include NeoFact, Korea Digital Health Industry Association, Lunit, and SK C&C.
The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy formed the Industrial Digital Transformation Alliance to spread public consensus and promote participation in digital transformation using industrial data, and decided to support a total of 2.9 trillion KRW in research & development (R&D), funds, and financial support across six major industrial sectors. This is a follow-up measure to the 'Digital-based Industrial Innovation Growth Strategy' announced by the government last August as part of the Korean New Deal.
The Digital Transformation Alliance plans to form alliances in 10 fields and discover 100 digital transformation tasks over the next three years. This year, considering the likelihood of digital transformation success and systematic composition of the industrial ecosystem, six field alliances will be formed and 20 tasks will be discovered.
Associations, specialized research institutes, and government-funded research institutes will act as guides by industry and sector to support directions for industrial data sharing and cooperation, and discovery of digital transformation tasks. If regulatory improvements are needed for new product launches or new service provision through digital transformation, the 'Regulatory Sandbox' system will support prompt processing to remove obstacles.
Ban Ho-young, CEO of NeoFact, said, “NeoFact is the first company to pass the domestic home rehabilitation regulatory sandbox demonstration exception and is the only company legally producing medical devices capable of providing remote medical services to domestic patients in Korea.” He added, “Following the regulatory sandbox approval, we have agreed to provide full-scale remote rehabilitation services with many hospital officials.”
He continued, “Since COVID-19, the global remote medical market has grown significantly, and especially in the rehabilitation field where outpatient treatment is difficult, remote medical services are expected to be introduced more rapidly.” He said, “As a leading company in rehabilitation medical devices and services, we are taking the lead in revitalizing the remote rehabilitation industry.”
