Official Condolences from the Group on the Third Day of the Funeral
Hyun-joon Cho, Chairman of Hyosung Group, visited the funeral hall at Samsung Seoul Hospital in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, where the condolence room for Lee Kun-hee, Chairman of Samsung, was set up, on the 27th to pay his respects.
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ji-hee] Hyosung Group Chairman Cho Hyun-joon visited the funeral hall of Samsung Chairman Lee Kun-hee for the second consecutive day following his visit on the 26th.
At around 4:30 PM on the 27th, Chairman Cho visited the funeral hall set up at Samsung Medical Center in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, and recalled, "When I was young, the late chairman sent me two Jindo dogs," adding, "He was a warm-hearted person."
Notably, Chairman Cho attracted attention by paying his respects again on the third day of the funeral, following his visit the previous day. While his visit on the previous day was a personal gesture of friendship, it is known that on this day he came with company executives including Vice Chairman Lee Sang-woon and President Cho Hyun-sang to offer official condolences on behalf of the group.
On the 25th, Chairman Lee passed away in the morning, and condolences continued to pour in from various sectors on this day as well. Following Chairman Cho, Jeffrey Jones, Chairman of the Board of the American Chamber of Commerce in Korea, who visited the funeral hall, said, "Chairman Lee did many great things for Korea as well as the world in semiconductors, mobile phones, computers, and more," adding, "We always have good memories, and we are very grateful for his many sacrifices and especially for his contributions to economic development."
