[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] Muan County, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim San) announced on the 27th that it held the '2020 Major Issues Review Meeting' on the 26th, presided over by the governor and attended by the deputy governor, heads of departments, offices, and divisions.

Held at the time of wrapping up 2020 and preparing the budget for the next year, this meeting was convened to review major issues and the progress of pledged projects that had been discussed in executive meetings and major work report meetings, and to set future directions.

The meeting received reports from heads of offices and divisions on 16 issues including designation of regional special zones, linkage plans for Yeongsangang River tourism infrastructure, COVID-19 response measures for revitalizing the local economy, youth policies, and discussed key points on 11 pledged projects of the 7th local government term such as the creation of Changpoho Eco Land, establishment of an aviation-specialized high school, and construction of seafood distribution facilities.

Governor Kim San urged, “Issues such as designation of regional special zones, population measures, youth policies and startup activation linked to the 4th Industrial Revolution, and establishment of agricultural and fishery-related measures to cope with climate change should not be limited to the respective departments but should be considered and cooperated on by all offices and divisions.”

He also strongly ordered, “Please proceed with major issues and pledged projects with a sense of urgency and respond aggressively and strategically to any problems.”

A county official said, “This review meeting was prepared to share major county administration issues among offices and divisions and to seek better solutions,” adding, “We will reorganize the communication and cooperation system between departments to ensure smooth progress of county administration.”

Meanwhile, the 7th local government term pledged projects of Muan County total 90, with a pledge completion rate of 35% as of the end of October and an average progress rate of 66%, progressing smoothly.
