Hong Jun-pyo: "People Power Party, Assaulting with Only Rookie Trainees... Do You Want to Be Annihilated?"

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Former Liberty Korea Party leader Hong Joon-pyo criticized the People Power Party, saying, "The opposition is trying to siege with only rookie trainees."

On the 27th, Hong said on Facebook, "The opposition, whose troop strength is only half that of the Democratic Party of Korea and shows no fighting spirit, is cutting ties with that faction because they are far-right, excluding that person because they are hardliners, excluding another because of a bad relationship with me, and excluding yet another because they interfere with my control of the party."

This appears to be a criticism of the People Power Party's response, which is cutting ties with the "far-right faction" and delaying the reinstatement of independent lawmakers.

He pointed out, "Trying to siege with only rookie trainees is no different from hoping for a lucky break or sending a signal that they will surrender without fighting, so please look favorably upon them," adding, "The idea of splitting here and there to create small castles and become the lord of even a small castle could instead lead to another destruction where even that small lordship is impossible."

Hong expressed regret, saying, "In South Korea, regime changes have been occurring roughly every 10 years recently, and the opposing side has already taken control of the legislature, judiciary, and administration, as well as broadcasting, newspapers, and polling institutions," and asked, "Have the people who were already destroyed once and barely mobilized not suffered enough yet to be doing this?"
