According to the domestic status announced by the Central Disease Control Headquarters as of midnight on the same day, 72 cases are estimated to be domestic infections, and 16 cases are imported from overseas.
By region, Seoul reported 24 cases, Gyeonggi 27 cases, and Incheon 2 cases, with the metropolitan area accounting for the majority at 53 cases. Outside the metropolitan area, Gangwon had the highest number with 6 cases, followed by Daejeon and Gyeongnam with 5 cases each, Jeonnam 2 cases, and Chungbuk 1 case.
The number of imported confirmed cases was 16, down 9 from the previous day. The United States had the most with 7 cases, followed by Poland with 3, India 2, Myanmar 1, Switzerland 1, France 1, and Ukraine 1.
There are 52 critically ill patients, and with 3 deaths reported the previous day, the total number of COVID-19 deaths in the country has risen to 460.
With 88 new confirmed cases on the day, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country increased to 26,043. Currently, 1,602 patients are isolated and undergoing treatment.
