Chairman Park Jung-won: "Chairman Lee Kun-hee, who 'propelled the Korean economy forward,' left us too soon" Doosan Group Chairman Park Jung-won paid his respects for about 40 minutes on the afternoon of the 26th at 9:22 PM at the funeral hall of Samsung Seoul Hospital in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, where the late Samsung Chairman Lee Kun-hee's resting place was prepared, before returning home.

[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] Park Jung-won, chairman of Doosan Group, paid his respects at the funeral hall of Samsung chairman Lee Kun-hee on the 26th.


Chairman Park visited the funeral hall at Seoul Samsung Hospital in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, where Chairman Lee's wake was held, at around 8:41 p.m. and mourned the deceased for about 40 minutes.


After finishing his condolence visit, Chairman Park said, "He was a person who propelled the South Korean economy forward, and it is regrettable that he passed away so early, not even reaching 80 years old."


Prior to Park Jung-won's visit, his uncle Park Yong-man, chairman of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, also visited the funeral hall at around 10:35 a.m. Park Yong-man said, "Wasn't Chairman Lee Kun-hee's last thought hoping for the 'Lee Jae-yong era' to fully open?" and added, "I had such thoughts while looking at Chairman Lee's portrait."
