[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Chosun University Hospital (Hospital Director Jeong Jong-hoon) announced on the 26th that it has introduced a ‘Mobile Phone Pre-Screening’ system to prevent infectious diseases such as COVID-19 and to alleviate inconveniences for visitors within the hospital.
Since the beginning of this year when domestic COVID-19 cases first occurred, Chosun University Hospital has required all visitors to fill out a screening questionnaire asking about COVID-19 related symptoms, overseas travel history, and contact with confirmed cases.
However, during peak visiting hours, long waiting lines for filling out the questionnaire caused congestion at the hospital entrance, resulting in inconvenience for visitors.
Accordingly, Chosun University Hospital decided to operate a mobile phone pre-screening system to reduce waiting times for questionnaire completion and to alleviate visitor inconvenience.
Visitors fill out a pre-screening survey before visiting the hospital, providing their name and contact information, and answering questions such as ▲presence of fever or respiratory symptoms ▲contact with confirmed cases ▲whether any family members are subject to self-quarantine.
Based on this, a QR code is generated, and respondents receive a sticker from staff at a dedicated entrance, allowing them to enter the hospital quickly without waiting.
If any issues arise during the mobile pre-screening, such as fever, respiratory symptoms, or contact with confirmed cases, a warning message is displayed, guiding the visitor to the screening clinic located to the left of the Regional Emergency Medical Center, restricting hospital entry.
Additionally, Chosun University Hospital will continue to operate the existing method for visitors who do not use smartphones or KakaoTalk, or who have difficulty completing the questionnaire via mobile phone.
Hospital Director Jeong Jong-hoon said, “Through mobile phone pre-screening, we will alleviate inconveniences for visitors to Chosun University Hospital and do our best to prevent in-hospital infections by preemptively blocking visits from suspected COVID-19 patients.”
