POSCO E&C Selected as Contractor for Jayang Woosung 1st Apartment Remodeling

[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo In-ho] POSCO Engineering & Construction announced on the 26th that it has been selected as the construction company for the remodeling project of Jayang Woosung 1st Apartment in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul.

At the remodeling construction company selection general meeting held on the 24th for Jayang Woosung 1st Apartment, POSCO Engineering & Construction won the construction rights by receiving 355 votes in favor out of 380 attending union members.

Located at 569 Ttukseom-ro, Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, Jayang Woosung 1st Apartment was built in 1988 and is now a 33-year-old aging apartment. Through horizontal and separate building expansions, the existing 656 households will be transformed into 754 households.

The complex has been named ‘The Sharp Elitia,’ and the newly built 98 units will be sold to the general public. Move-in is scheduled for mid-2027.

POSCO Engineering & Construction will apply specialized designs to Jayang Woosung 1st Apartment, including a lighting curtain wall look and a large-scale community space of about 750 pyeong focused on health and education.

The parking lot, which previously had only about 0.3 spaces per household, will be expanded from the existing basement level 1 to basement level 5, allowing 1.35 parking spaces per household. The above-ground parking lot will be transformed into a park with specialized landscaping, creating approximately a 1.1 km walking trail and a central plaza of about 820 pyeong.

A POSCO Engineering & Construction official said, “Our sincere efforts from the early stages of the project to ensure smooth progress for the union have borne fruit,” adding, “It will become a new landmark in Gwangjin-gu following The Sharp Star City.”
