Opening on November 11 at Daehakro Art Space Hyehwa
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Byung-hee] The original play "Interview" by the theater company Geukbaljeonso 301 will open on November 11 at Hyehwa Art Space in Daehak-ro.
"Interview" is a story about a married couple. It starts from the premise that "a married couple is the closest relationship in the world, but sometimes the ones who hurt each other the most." Once in love and reborn under the name of marriage, they begin to run toward the finish line called happiness. If one person has reached the finish line and is resting while the other has not even started, can their relationship be maintained? The play aims to shed light on the growth of the couple and the balance that follows.
The couple are novelists. The wife is currently the busiest novelist. The husband was once active but has not released any new work recently. One day, a reporter comes to interview the two. Slowly, cracks begin to appear in their precariously maintained relationship. What is it about marriage that makes them hit, scratch, and bite each other?
The play "Interview" is a new repertoire and original production by Geukbaljeonso 301. Kim Hana, a founding member of Geukbaljeonso 301 who has been steadily working on developing original plays, is the playwright and director. Kim Hana has warmly portrayed various aspects of individuals in ordinary daily life through works such as the play "If I May Say, A Love Story," "Everyday Christmas Cafe," and the musical "Today Brighter Than Tomorrow."
The role of the husband is played by actor Lim Il-gyu, who has appeared in plays such as "Pink Butterfly Project" and "Kamikaze Arirang." The wife is portrayed by actress Song Ji-eon, who recently appeared in plays like "Time Taxi" and "God's Agnes." Additionally, Park Da-mi, an actor affiliated with Geukbaljeonso 301 who participated in plays such as "That Day Will Come," plays the reporter interviewing the couple.
"Interview" was selected for the 2020 Arko Young Artists Support Project. The performance runs for a short period from November 11 to 15, and tickets can be reserved on Interpark Ticket starting at 3 PM on the 27th.
The performance will be held in compliance with COVID-19 prevention guidelines, including the preparation of a visitor log, temperature checks, and socially distanced seating.
