[Asia Economy Reporter Dongwoo Lee] Lee Kun-hee, Chairman of Samsung Group, passed away on the morning of the 25th. On the same day, Chung Mong-yoon, Chairman of Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance, and Chung Mong-gyu, Chairman of HDC, visited the funeral hall set up at Samsung Medical Center in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, to pay their respects to the deceased.
Chairman Chung Mong-gyu visited the funeral hall around 4:55 PM and offered condolences to Lee Jae-yong, Vice Chairman of Samsung Electronics, saying, "I pray for the repose of the deceased."
Chairman Chung Mong-yoon mourned the late Chairman Lee, saying, "He was a great giant in the Korean business world."
They stayed at the funeral hall for about 20 minutes, comforting the bereaved family.
Meanwhile, Chairman Lee passed away at 3:59 AM on the same day at the age of 78. The funeral will be held as a family funeral for four days, with the departure scheduled for the 28th.
