[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Choi Hyun-joo] BNK Gyeongnam Bank announced on the 25th that it conducted an untact social contribution project called 'Beachcombing Volunteer Activity' in the Gyeongnam and Ulsan areas.
The volunteer activity took place over two days, on the 24th and 25th, and beachcombing refers to the marine cleanup activity of collecting marine debris as if combing the beach.
Under the catchphrase "Find Microplastics," about 50 employees and their families who voluntarily applied through the company intranet participated in this volunteer activity. They visited major coastal areas in the region, including Gwangam Beach in Changwon, Bongam Mudflat, Sacheon Sacheon Bridge, Songnim Beach in Hadong, and Ilsan Beach in Ulsan, collecting various trash such as plastics.
Sales Department Assistant Manager Kwon Bo-ram said, "Plastic that flows into the sea does not decompose and drifts for decades, and in foreign countries, plastic trash islands larger than the Korean Peninsula have been discovered, causing serious side effects worldwide," adding, "Through the beachcombing volunteer activity, we were able to take time to practice the thoughts and concerns about saving the Earth we live on."
