[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Eun-young] Recently, suspicions of child abuse were detected at a daycare center in Dong-gu, Ulsan, and an investigation is underway. Meanwhile, the parent of the victimized child appealed for severe punishment of the abusive teacher through the Blue House's national petition website.

Parent A posted a petition on the 25th titled "Terrible daycare abuse incident in Dong-gu, Ulsan, the perpetrator teacher is the director's daughter."

A introduced themselves as "the parent of a 6-year-old boy attending a daycare center in Dong-gu, Ulsan," and stated, "Recently, I found out that my child had been subjected to long-term abuse by the homeroom childcare teacher, who is the director's daughter."

They continued, "The childcare teacher forcibly fed a large amount of food at once because the child did not eat well," adding, "Even when the child was gagging, the teacher pressed down hard on both thighs and ankles with her feet until the child swallowed the food."

Furthermore, they said, "(The abusive teacher) made the child hit his head on the desk corner and strangled him to the point of suffocation," and appealed, "If the child did not swallow the food by the end of lunchtime, he was not even allowed to go to the bathroom, and the child eventually urinated in his clothes."

A stated, "After learning about the abuse, I contacted the daycare center to check the CCTV footage, but the director refused to show the video citing unreasonable reasons," and claimed, "After a struggle, the footage we finally saw contained abuse scenes that no human should commit."

They also expressed outrage, saying, "The director said she had dismissed the childcare teacher, but later I found out that the teacher is the director's daughter," and "The daycare center's chairman and driver is the director's husband."

Currently, the child is showing extreme anxiety symptoms, and classmates who were also exposed to the abuse are trembling with fear, worried they might be scolded like my child," they revealed.

A added, "A thorough investigation and punishment must be carried out against the director and others who tried to conceal and appease this incident," and "The director should be held highly accountable for management responsibilities, and legal sanctions are necessary to prevent such terrible abuse incidents from happening again."

Meanwhile, according to the police on the 8th, a report was received that a childcare teacher abused a 6-year-old boy at a daycare center in Dong-gu, Ulsan.

The abuse was discovered when the child refused to go to the daycare, prompting the suspicious parents to check the CCTV footage.

The police stated they are restoring the footage to check for additional victims and plan to review whether to apply charges under the Child Welfare Act against the teacher.
