On this day, the number of new COVID-19 cases by region was highest in Tokyo Metropolis with 203 cases, followed by Osaka Prefecture with 96 cases, and Kanagawa Prefecture with 62 cases.
The number of deaths among Japan's COVID-19 cases increased by 4, totaling 1,727.
