50% Discount for Vulnerable Groups, 30% Discount for Uljin Residents
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] Uljin-gun, Gyeongbuk Province announced on the 24th that it has completed preparations for the opening of the province's first public postpartum care center and will begin full-scale operations from November 2.
The public postpartum care center was established at Uljin-gun Medical Center. Gyeongbuk Province and Uljin-gun invested a total budget of 800 million KRW to complete construction in June, with a total floor area of 710㎡ and 8 maternity rooms.
The usage fee is 1.82 million KRW for a two-week period. Vulnerable groups (recipients of basic livelihood security, persons with disabilities, national merit recipients, etc.) and mothers who gave birth to multiples or their third child or more receive a 50% discount. Parents who are residents of Uljin-gun, or if the mother or spouse is a resident of Uljin-gun, receive a 30% discount, and residents of Gyeongsangbuk-do receive a 10% discount.
The public postpartum care center is equipped with maternity rooms, a neonatal room, a program room, a massage room, and a visiting room. Uljin-gun Medical Center's obstetrics and gynecology and pediatrics departments provide high-quality medical services, establishing a systematic pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care system, which is a source of pride for Uljin-gun.
Jeon Chan-geol, the county governor, stated, "Along with operating Gyeongsangbuk-do's first public postpartum care center, we will do our best to build a systematic foundation to overcome low birth rates and make Uljin-gun a place where having and raising children is a source of happiness."
