Emphasizing Firefighting Spirit: 'Honor, Trust, Dedication'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Ma Jaeyoon, head of the Jeonnam Fire Headquarters, spent time communicating with newly appointed firefighters taking their first steps as fire service officers.
According to the Jeonnam Fire Headquarters on the 23rd, Director Ma visited the Fire Academy and gave a special lecture to 45 new firefighter trainees (7 from Jeonnam, 18 from Gwangju, and 20 from Jeonbuk) on integrity and the mindset required as fire service officers.
In particular, during the lecture, Director Ma emphasized the role and attitude of safety experts to the trainees, urging them to "strive to become honorable firefighters before the public."
Throughout the lecture, Director Ma also had free conversations with the prospective firefighters and shared anecdotes from his experience as the head of the Honam region headquarters covering Gwangju, Jeonnam, and Jeonbuk, including rescue activities during a hospital fire in Goheung.
Meanwhile, the new fire service officers enrolled on the 12th and will complete 11 weeks of specialized training in fire, rescue, and emergency medical services, as well as basic training on integrity as public officials and a communicative organizational culture, before being assigned to frontline sites.
