US Teen with Illegal Weapons Planned to Assassinate Joe Biden

[Asia Economy Reporter Donghyun Choi] A teenage male in the United States, arrested on charges of possessing a large quantity of illegal weapons, is reported to have even attempted to assassinate Joe Biden, the Democratic presidential candidate.

According to foreign media including the US ABC network on the 23rd (local time), employees discovered various weapons loaded in a white van parked in a bank parking lot in Kannapolis, North Carolina, in May and reported it.

The police found a large number of firearms including an AR-15 (a type of assault rifle, a small automatic rifle), containers of explosive materials, and ammunition boxes inside the vehicle, and arrested the van owner, Alexander Hillel Treisman (19), on the 28th of the same month.

Kannapolis police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) conducted further investigations and found over 8,600 child pornography files on Treisman's electronic devices.

Police who conducted a detailed analysis of the computer possessed by Treisman revealed that he was interested in terrorism and mass shootings and traveled through several states purchasing weapons.

As a result of the investigation, it was revealed that Treisman had left a note on his social networking service (SNS) saying, "Should I kill Joe Biden?"

Treisman was also confirmed to have searched the internet for Biden's home address, gun-related laws, and night vision devices. He visited a restaurant located within approximately 6.4 km of Biden's residence and reportedly created a behavioral checklist ending with the word "execution."
