Various Programs Including Strategy Briefings and Mentoring Offered

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] The "2020 Overseas Cheer-up (Employment) Week," hosted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and organized by the Human Resources Development Service of Korea, will be held from the 26th of this month to the 8th of next month.


During this period, various necessary information will be provided online in a one-stop manner for young people facing difficulties in overseas employment.


The programs during the event week include ▲Online Overseas Employment Strategy Briefing ▲Real-time Web Q&A ▲Online Overseas Employment Mentoring ▲Cheer-up Honest Talk Overseas Employment Webinar, among others.


In the Overseas Employment Strategy Briefing, employment information will be provided for office jobs (Japan, USA, Middle East) and IT jobs (Japan, Malaysia), which were selected as the top 1 and 2 hopeful employment occupations for youth.


Approximately 40-minute videos are provided by country and occupation. Anyone can watch them via PC and mobile by applying through World Job Plus during the event period.


A real-time web Q&A session will be held to solve young people's questions through interactive communication with those who have completed the online overseas employment strategy briefing.


By date, the sessions are divided as follows: ▲November 2 IT (Japan, Malaysia) ▲November 3 Office (USA, Middle East) ▲November 5 Japan (General positions, Logistics/Distribution positions), with the strategy briefing instructors answering questions directly.


Online overseas employment mentoring will also be conducted. A total of six mentors from IT and office job fields will participate and conduct 90-minute one-to-many mentoring sessions via a video system. By date, mentoring will be held as follows: ▲October 29 IT (Japan, USA) ▲October 30 Office (USA, Australia, Singapore).


Events for young people hoping for overseas employment include a live webinar "Cheer-up Honest Talk" sharing vivid experiences of local employment in Singapore, resume registration and correction events in English and Japanese, and a cheering box event providing overseas employment guidebooks.


All programs conducted during the 2020 Overseas Cheer-up Week can be applied for through World Job Plus, and detailed information can be found in the notices on the website.
