Seongbuk-gu and Seongbuk-gu Youth Support Center Resume 'Chinguya Sopunggaja'

Due to COVID-19, temporarily postponed; recently decided to resume with eased social distancing... On the 20th, 14 out-of-school youth enjoy an exciting picnic at the amusement park

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Seongbuk-gu (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) and Seongbuk-gu Youth Support Center Kkumdeulim (Director Lee Eun-seon) have joined hands to restart the program "Chinguya Sopunggaja" (Friends, Let's Go on a Picnic) for out-of-school youth.

This program is usually held right after the qualification exam but was temporarily postponed due to concerns over the spread of COVID-19. However, with the recent easing of social distancing to Level 1, the decision was made to resume the program.

On the 20th, 14 out-of-school youths who had been eagerly waiting for the picnic day visited an amusement park and enjoyed a joyful time laughing together with their peers after a long time. For safety, three supervising teachers accompanied them.

Kim** (16), who went on the picnic, smiled and said, "I had to stay cooped up at home for a year because of COVID-19, so it feels like a breath of fresh air."

Park** (14) also shared, "I was worried about feeling awkward with friends I was meeting for the first time, but we communicated well and running around the park together made it even more exciting." All participating youths expressed their hope that "Chinguya Sopunggaja" would continue.

"Chinguya Sopunggaja" is a program that provides out-of-school youth with cultural experience learning opportunities and chances to build relationships with peers, supporting their balanced growth physically and mentally.

Seongbuk-gu and Seongbuk-gu Youth Support Center conduct various projects for the healthy growth of out-of-school youth, including academic support, employment support, independence support, self-development support, and health support.
