[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] KOTRA will publish the book "Global Trends That Korea Will Enthusiastically Embrace 2021" on the 23rd.
The "Global Trends That Korea Will Enthusiastically Embrace" series introduces innovative business cases collected locally by KOTRA employees working at 127 overseas trade centers in 84 countries worldwide. KOTRA's "Global Trends That Korea Will Enthusiastically Embrace" is the only publication in Korea that annually tracks global business flows. Since its first release in 2011, this marks the ninth edition this year.
KOTRA categorized the 2021 global trends into four themes and identified ten keywords.
The first is the "Innovative Society," with keywords ▲Hygiene Society ▲Safety Society ▲Transparent Society. It includes business cases reflecting the rapidly changing global awareness of hygiene and safety due to COVID-19.
The second is the "Era of Seclusion." As the contactless society becomes full-fledged, the rediscovery of personal spaces including homes is explained through ▲Well-being Home Life ▲The Kit Boom ▲Virtual Connector.
The third is the "Distribution Revolution." The trend of efficiently allocating customers' final demands and recreating previously discarded resources is understood through ▲Powerful Distribution ▲New Creation.
The last is the "Green Revolution." Analyzing cases from various countries where production of products that can return to nature is increasing and eco-friendly farming methods are gaining attention, the keywords are ▲Circular Society ▲Agri-Tech Biz.
KOTRA includes 3 to 4 business cases for each keyword, introducing a total of 37 business cases. These range from VTubers acting as virtual characters, wearable thermometers, AI-managed fresh food supply, to water made from vegetables, showcasing diverse examples from around the globe.
To commemorate the book release, KOTRA will also hold the "2021 Global Business Trends Online Briefing" on the 10th of next month. The briefing will cover changes in trends in global, economic, consumer, and technology fields and can be registered for on the KOTRA Overseas Market News website.
