Lee Jae-myung: "Is Assemblywoman Kim Eun-hye Malicious or Incompetent?"

[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Lee Jae-myung, Governor of Gyeonggi Province, lamented that Kim Eun-hye, a member of the People Power Party, is either "incompetent or malicious" for deliberately distorting a minor issue in expression and fabricating facts.

On the 23rd, Lee posted on Facebook an article titled "Disappointed in Representative Kim Eun-hye. This is why you are called a burden to the people," stating, "Regarding the Bonghyeon Logistics Complex project in Gwangju, Gyeonggi Province (related to the Optimus fraud group), there was no initial request for advisory on the resource procurement plan to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT). However, during the National Assembly audit, the head of the Gyeonggi Province department appeared and answered that there was such an advisory when Representative Kim asked if there had been any advisory on the funding plan," and added, "A certain media outlet reported this under the headline 'Gyeonggi Province reveals false testimony suspicions on Optimus at National Assembly audit' without further fact-checking."

He continued, "On April 8th, Gyeonggi Province sent an official letter to MOLIT requesting a review on whether a verification of actual demand was necessary due to changes in the funding plan, and also sought expert 'advisory opinions' on this matter," emphasizing, "However, contrary to the department head’s answer during the audit to Kim’s question about whether there had been advisory on the funding plan, there was no such advisory received."

He added, "If Representative Kim argues, 'It was advisory on the verification of actual demand, so why did you falsely testify that it was advisory on the funding plan?' or 'It was a review request to MOLIT, so why did you falsely testify that it was an advisory request?' that is just nitpicking and fighting over trivialities," criticizing, "It’s like the issue is whether the moon was pointed at or the sun, but they are arguing over whether the moon was pointed at with a finger or a palm."

Furthermore, Lee said, "Representative Kim is maliciously distorting a minor issue in expression and fabricating facts," and delivered a direct blow, "Picking trivial faults and exaggerating obvious facts to distort and fabricate shows either incompetence or malice, and that is why you are called a 'burden to the people.'"

Finally, Lee stated, "I want to see proposals presented to the people and the ruling party and the main opposition party competing to 'do well' as the leading opposition party," expressing, "As a member of the public, I feel very sorry about the reality of the main opposition party that is just becoming a burden."
