On the 22nd, at the persimmon farm of Mr. Cha Mo (79) in Jisari, Oenam-myeon, about 30 people including employees from the City Hall Accounting Department and the Agricultural Technology Center's Technology Extension Division participated to provide labor support.
On the same day, at the farm of Mr. Kim Mo (67) in Daepo-ri, Moseo-myeon, about 20 people including staff from the Moseo-myeon office, City Hall Urban Division, and hometown association members actively joined the labor assistance to ease the farmers' burdens, working hard under the sun. In Gyelim-dong, 15 people including the Gyelim-dong office staff, Sangju City Hall Future Strategy Promotion Team, and Saemaul Sports Division employees participated to support the persimmon harvest work.
Farmer Cha from Oenam-myeon expressed gratitude, saying, "We were facing a situation where the persimmon harvest could be disrupted due to labor shortages, but thanks to the help from the myeon office staff and everyone at City Hall, we were able to harvest safely."
Oenam-myeon Chief Jo Seong-man, Moseo-myeon Chief Seo Jeong-dae, and Gyelim-dong Chief Jeon Yong-hee all spoke in unison, "We are glad to be able to assist with the timely harvest of crops that have been grown overcoming difficult weather conditions such as heavy rain and typhoons."
