[Asia Economy Reporter Ki Ha-young] NH Nonghyup Life Insurance has stepped up to help with farm labor during the harvest season.
NH Nonghyup Life Insurance announced on the 23rd that it visited Yeongbuk-myeon, Pocheon, Gyeonggi Province the previous day to assist with agricultural support labor. More than 50 executives and employees, including CEO Hong Jae-eun, full-time audit committee members, non-executive directors, and outside directors, helped with the fruit harvesting work, which requires a large workforce during the harvest season.
Since April this year until November, Nonghyup Life Insurance has designated this period as the 'Rural Labor Assistance' intensive promotion period and is conducting a 'Farm Season Labor Assistance' campaign involving all executives and employees. The purpose is to provide practical help to farms suffering from severe labor shortages due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
Hong Jae-eun, CEO of NH Nonghyup Life Insurance, said, "This year's rural harvest sites are facing difficulties in securing labor due to COVID-19," adding, "NH Nonghyup Life Insurance will continue to do its best to support stable farming activities for farmers."
