Hyundai Motor Launches 'Unjeongyeolsim', a Safe and Legal Driving Training App

[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] Hyundai Motor Company is collaborating with the police and civic groups to establish a safe and legal driving training culture through a mobile platform.

Hyundai Motor announced on the 22nd that it held a non-face-to-face business agreement ceremony with the National Police Agency and the Safe Life Practice Citizens' Coalition (hereinafter Ansillyeon) on the 19th, agreeing to mutually cooperate with the goal of conducting a safe driving training campaign to prevent accidents involving novice drivers.

Despite various issues such as financial fraud, lessons from unverified instructors, and illegally modified training vehicles, illegal driving training has continued to flourish due to ▲lack of customer awareness about illegal driving training and ▲complex procedures and low accessibility of legal driving training.

To improve this environment, Hyundai Motor and others agreed to develop and provide a new service platform offering legal driving training in a non-face-to-face, mobile format. Specifically, ▲Hyundai Motor will provide, operate, and promote the platform and run the safe driving training campaign, ▲the National Police Agency will support platform activation, and ▲Ansillyeon will support the operation of the safe driving training campaign.

Specifically, the three parties plan to lead a healthy driving training culture by launching a new-concept mobile platform called 'Unjeon Gyeolsim' that matches driving training demanders and suppliers (driving specialized academies) on a 1:1 basis.

Hyundai Motor and others will first provide pilot services through 20 affiliated academies in the Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Incheon areas, and plan to expand the service area to the five major metropolitan cities nationwide and Jeju City next year.

Customers who apply for driving training through the 'Unjeon Gyeolsim' mobile web or app will receive Shinsegae mobile gift certificates on a first-come, first-served basis, and after completing the training, they will receive various additional benefits such as ▲discounts on Hyundai Motor new car purchases and ▲discounts on specific products from Hyundai Selection.

A Hyundai Motor official said, “The driving training matching mobile platform 'Unjeon Gyeolsim' is significant in that it represents a public-private-civil cooperation to spread legal driving training and create a healthy traffic culture,” adding, “Especially in the situation where face-to-face contact must be minimized due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), 'Unjeon Gyeolsim' can be a timely response measure.”
