Scheduled to be Held Online Under the Theme 'In the Digital Economy Era, Starting with Financial Security'
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Min-young] The Financial Security Institute announced on the 22nd that it will hold Korea's largest financial information security conference, FISCON 2020, online for three days from November 11 to 13.
FISCON 2020, marking its 14th edition this year, is co-hosted by the Financial Information Security Council and the Financial Security Forum, and supported by the Financial Services Commission and the Financial Supervisory Service. This year, to practice social distancing due to the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and to conduct the event safely, anyone can participate online without separate pre-registration through the FISCON website.
FISCON 2020 is organized under the theme "From Financial Security in the Digital Economy Era," consisting of a total of 20 programs covering various topics related to financial security threats, policies, technologies, and responses following changes in the financial environment in the post-COVID era.
The opening remarks will be delivered by Kim Young-ki, President of the Financial Security Institute, followed by congratulatory speeches from key figures including Yoon Kwan-seok, Chairman of the National Assembly's Political Affairs Committee, Son Byung-du, Vice Chairman of the Financial Services Commission, and Kim Geun-ik, Senior Deputy Governor of the Financial Supervisory Service. Special lectures include Park Chan-am, CEO of Steelyan, presenting "Demonstration of Vulnerabilities in the Digital Financial Environment and Security Measures," and Michihiro Taniai, Chairman of Japan Financial ISAC, delivering a keynote speech on "New Financial Environment and Telecommuting Status."
There will also be lectures on a total of 18 topics across three tracks related to policy, technology, and response, including acceleration of digital transformation and financial data protection, post-COVID environment and financial innovation technologies, and financial cyber threats and strengthening safety nets.
President Kim Young-ki stated, "We hope that FISCON 2020 will be an opportunity to gain the information and insights necessary to seek successful financial security strategies in the digital economy era." He added, "With the participation of Japan Financial ISAC in the event, we will continue to strive to develop FISCON into Korea's representative international financial security conference that discusses global digital financial security issues and challenges in the post-COVID era and seeks joint responses and solutions."
