[Asia Economy Reporter Bu Aeri] LG CNS is strengthening artificial intelligence (AI) education for teenagers.
According to LG CNS on the 22nd, AI education will be provided to 4,000 teenagers this year. This is a 60% increase from 2,500 last year.
Until last year, LG CNS employees visited middle schools to donate their talents, but this year, due to the impact of COVID-19, 'Coding Genius' is being conducted online. Coding Genius is LG CNS's software (SW) education program for teenagers.
On the 23rd, LG CNS will conduct remote AI education for Bugwi Middle School in Jinan-gun, Jeonbuk, and Gwangneung Middle School in Namyangju-si, Gyeonggi-do.
The education is a 6-hour course in one day. It consists of five classes: ▲Understanding AI concepts ▲Experiencing AI technology ▲Exploring future jobs ▲Discussing ethical issues ▲Creating an AI chatbot.
LG CNS's AI education is conducted in real-time through video calls between instructors and students. Interactive communication is possible through comments or video conversations. Five AI education videos produced by LG CNS are also utilized.
For example, in the 'Creating an AI Chatbot' class, in the first step, students input words expressing emotions and create at least five sentences that can represent each word. In the second step, the AI learns the relationship between words and sentences. Finally, coding is done to operate the AI chatbot.
LG CNS plans to provide additional education to about 3,000 people by the end of this year. To this end, it will also participate in the 'SW Education Festival' hosted by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Science and ICT in early November. At this event, LG CNS will open an online exhibition hall to post AI education content and conduct online video classes.
Kim Gisu, Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer (CHO) of LG CNS, said, "This course was designed so that teenagers can receive high-quality IT education at home," and added, "In addition to AI, we will expand IT new technology education for teenagers that only LG CNS can provide, such as cloud and blockchain."
