Distribution of 'COVID-19 Prevention Kits' at Namseong Station Alley Market, Sangdo 4-dong Goblin Market, and Shopping Districts until the 23rd... Sterilization and Disinfection of Major Roads and Store Interiors until Year-End... Specialized Disinfection Company 'Eoreusin Haengbok Co., Ltd.' Entrusted
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Dongjak-gu (Mayor Chang-woo Lee) is strengthening quarantine measures and providing quarantine kits to block the spread of COVID-19 in the community and create a safe environment for using traditional markets.
First, by the 23rd, the district will distribute ‘COVID-19 Quarantine Kits for Merchants’ to traditional markets and shopping districts including ▲Gangnam Market ▲Namseong Sagye Market ▲Bondong Injeong Market ▲Seongdae Traditional Market ▲Heukseok Alley Market ▲Sindebang 1-dong Alley Commercial Area.
The kit consists of 20 KF94 masks, mask straps, 5 pairs of quarantine gloves, disinfectant, and 2 packs of disinfectant wet wipes, enabling merchants to disinfect their stores by themselves.
The produced kits will be delivered to a total of 980 locations including building-type markets, alley-type markets, and unregistered markets within the district through each market’s merchant association.
Additionally, until December, the district will strengthen quarantine by commissioning the specialized quarantine company ‘Eoreushin Haengbok Corporation’ for traditional markets in the area.
‘Dongjak-gu Eoreushin Haengbok Corporation,’ a senior employment company guaranteeing retirement up to age 73 and the first of its kind established and funded at the autonomous district level nationwide, will conduct a total of 10 professional quarantine sessions at the target stores.
They will regularly carry out ▲disinfection and sterilization of main roads and store floors ▲air disinfection using internal microparticle sprayers ▲disinfection and sterilization of frequently touched objects using ultra-fine microfiber towels to create a market environment where residents can visit with peace of mind.
For more details, inquiries can be made to the Economic Promotion Division of Dongjak-gu Office.
To revitalize the local economy, which has been stagnant due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, the district is expanding the ‘Traditional Market Day’ delivery service to related organizations. In September, following the selection of ‘Seongdae Traditional Market’ in the Ministry of SMEs and Startups’ ‘2020 Smart Pilot Shopping District’ contest, about 200 million KRW was invested to promote smart technology fields for management efficiency such as ▲smart mirrors ▲serving robots ▲mobile reservation, ordering, and payment systems, as well as smart order services enabling non-face-to-face ordering and payment.
Kim Jung-won, head of the Economic Promotion Division, said, “We are strengthening quarantine in traditional markets so that both merchants and users can feel safe from COVID-19,” and added, “We ask residents to actively participate in the district-wide good consumption movement and Traditional Market Day events to revitalize the local economy.”
