[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] On the morning of the 21st, Yoodonggyun, Mayor of Mapo-gu, attended the 'Forest Opening the Future' event held at Guryong Neighborhood Park in Sangam-dong.
As part of the commemorative tree planting project for planting 5 million trees in Mapo-gu, about 50 people including the Sangam-dong Residents' Autonomy Committee, residents, and students from Dwight School participated in the event.
To leave memories to cherish forever before autumn ends, the event participants and Mayor Yoodonggyun of Mapo-gu planted 60 trees including wild cherry trees and pear trees together.
The trees planted through the event not only carry the wishes of the residents to nurture future dreams and hopes but also contribute to the creation of an air-purifying forest in Mapo-gu.
Mayor Yoodonggyun of Mapo-gu said, “I am grateful that the forest is growing with the voluntary participation of residents in the district's key project of planting 5 million trees,” and added, “We will continue to do our best to create a pleasant green city throughout the district.”
