Dongwon F&B Launches Traditional Korean Rice Drink 'Yangban Sikhye' and 'Yangban Sujeonggwa' Made from Rice

[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Saeng-hye] Dongwon F&B announced on the 21st that it has launched traditional Korean beverages made with pear, ‘Yangban Sikhye’ and ‘Yangban Sujeonggwa.’

Both products are traditional Korean beverages recreated in the traditional way of adding fruit to create a sweet taste. They also use domestic ingredients such as native pears, Icheon rice, and Yeongdong dried persimmons to enhance the unique flavor of Korean cuisine.

Yangban Sikhye is a traditional pear sikhye from the southern Gyeonggi Province made with native Korean pears, and finely ground selected Icheon rice is added, resulting in a clean aftertaste and preserved nutrition. Yangban Sujeonggwa reduces the spicy taste of cinnamon and ginger and includes native Korean pears and Yeongdong dried persimmons, making it sweet and smooth.

Yangban Sikhye and Yangban Sujeonggwa are made using Dongwon Group’s aseptic filling method, making them safer and preserving the natural taste of the ingredients. The aseptic filling method involves filling sterilized beverages into PET bottles in a sterile facility where external bacteria cannot enter. Since there is no heat treatment process for sterilization, it maximizes the retention of nutrients in the raw materials while preserving their original taste and aroma.

Dongwon F&B’s ‘Yangban’ is a premium Korean food brand with 35 years of tradition, having introduced Yangban Gim in 1986, Yangban Juk in 1992, Yangban Kimchi in 1995, and recently Yangban Guktang Jjigae. With the launch of these two traditional beverages, Yangban has completed a traditional Korean meal setting that includes dessert beverages.
