"The Beginning of the Moon Administration's Fall... Full Party Effort Needed"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Former Liberty Korea Party leader Hong Joon-pyo stated on the 20th regarding the Lime and Optimus cases, "If we fail to secure a special prosecutor investigation for Lime and Optimus during this great opportunity, unlike the Druking special prosecutor investigation, the opposition party should close its doors," adding, "Only by representing the people's anger can the opposition party receive proper respect."
On the same day, Hong said on Facebook, "With the public enraged over the ruling party's shield-like national audit and the opposition's weak national audit, if we fail to push through the Lime and Optimus special prosecutor investigation, it will be difficult for the opposition party to avoid criticism of being a secondary party," expressing his view.
Hong urged, "Mobilize all party forces and have the party leadership take the forefront to ensure the special prosecutor investigation is carried out," emphasizing, "That case marks the beginning of the downfall of the Moon Jae-in administration."
He added, "Even during the early days of the Moon Jae-in administration when the atmosphere was very harsh, former floor leader Kim Sung-tae secured the Druking special prosecutor investigation through a hunger strike protest," and continued, "Despite strong suspicions that higher-ups were involved following the special prosecutor's investigation, the Hwang Kyo-ahn and Na Kyung-won leadership did not pursue a special prosecutor investigation into the Druking upper echelon and instead suppressed it, resulting in losing control of the political situation and being dragged along."
