Abolishing Senior Citizens' Day Celebration, Supporting 433 Senior Centers in Ulju-gun
On the 20th at 11 a.m., the Saeul Nuclear Headquarters delivered ramen worth 50 million won to 433 senior centers in Ulju-gun at the Ulju-gun Office in celebration of the 24th Senior Citizens' Day.
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Saewool Nuclear Power Headquarters held a ceremony at 11 a.m. on the 20th at Ulju County Office to deliver daily necessities worth 50 million won to 433 senior centers in 12 towns and townships within Ulju County in celebration of the 24th Senior Citizens' Day.
The event was attended by Ulju County Governor Lee Seon-ho, Saewool Nuclear Power Headquarters Director Han Sang-gil, External Cooperation Director Yoon Yoo-young, KHNP employees, as well as Lee Jin-ho, president of the Ulju County Youth Association, which organized the event, and executives of youth associations from each town and township.
This event was held by delivering 2,050 boxes of ramen worth 50 million won to 433 senior centers instead of the annual senior consolation event, which could not be held due to COVID-19. The daily necessities will be distributed to the elderly through the senior centers.
Han Sang-gil, director of Saewool Headquarters, said, "Although we cannot hold the annual senior banquet due to COVID-19, we hope this support of daily necessities will provide some small comfort."
Previously, Saewool Headquarters supported quarantine supplies such as masks and hand sanitizers to vulnerable neighboring areas, village halls, and senior centers, as well as consolation items to COVID-19 screening clinics.
