Zippo, Domestic First Popup Store Sales Soar


[Asia Economy Reporter Yujin Cho] Kolon Industries FnC Division (hereinafter Kolon FnC), the importer of the global luxury golf brand G/FORE, is achieving results beyond initial expectations since its launch.


Kolon FnC announced on the 20th that the sales of the first domestic pop-up store operated at Shinsegae Gangnam Store, ahead of the full-scale launch next year, ranked among the top golf brands in September. This represents 200% of the planned sales performance. Thanks to the absolute support of customers, Kolon FnC plans to extend the operation of the pop-up store until the 1st of next month.


G/FORE is a brand launched in 2011 by fashion designer Massimo Gianulli based in Los Angeles, after being acquired by the luxury fashion group Richemont Group. Understanding the tradition of golf and based on a modern brand sensibility differentiated from existing golf brands, it is recognized among golf enthusiasts as the "luxury brand of the golf world."


In particular, young female golfers who have been anticipating the G/FORE brand through social networking services (SNS) and overseas direct purchases had high expectations even before the pop-up store, and the success of the pop-up store confirms this anticipation. In fact, some women's golf shoes sold out in all sizes immediately after the pop-up store opened, and the signature color gloves also sold out and quickly depleted the restocked quantities, intensifying the enthusiasm.


Meanwhile, Kolon FnC, as the official importer of G/FORE in Korea, guarantees genuine products and provides free A/S for one year after purchase. Especially from the spring-summer season next year, it plans to launch apparel tailored to domestic customers and officially enter the Korean market with a total collection.


A Kolon FnC Golf Business Division official stated, "Through this pop-up store, G/FORE's differentiated design and product power have been verified by domestic customers. We will continue to lead golf fashion trends and strengthen systematic planning strategies and distribution to establish ourselves as a representative golf brand."
