[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Shinsaegae Boon the Shop, Korea's first fashion select shop, is expanding its scope to lifestyle.

Shinsaegae Department Store Boon the Shop will hold a special vintage furniture exhibition through the 'Wavelet' pop-up store from the 23rd to the 25th on the basement first floor of Cheongdam N Building. Wavelet is an online interior select shop introducing furniture, lighting, posters, and more that were popular from the 1940s to the 1960s.

At this pop-up store, a special exhibition of the Eames Chair by Herman Miller, a symbol of modern furniture loved by all generations, is prepared. It is an event where you can see over 150 various rare chairs in one place. Prices vary depending on the product, ranging from 350,000 to 950,000 KRW.

Since the 7th, the 'Mittem Bauhaus' pop-up store has also been ongoing on the first floor of Boon the Shop Cheongdam S Building. Mittem Bauhaus showcases original Bauhaus furniture produced from 1919 in Germany until 1933 and its lineage. This exhibition features not only furniture but also lighting and ceramic products. Among them are the famous 'ㄷ'-shaped chairs by 'Thonet' and products from the design lighting brand 'Technolumen'.

Opened in 2000, Boon the Shop Shinsaegae is evolving into a total select shop this year by introducing various lifestyle brands. In May, it held a pop-up store for 'Or Or', which has introduced unique eyewear products domestically and internationally, achieving sales exceeding 20% above the target.

Plants and bonsai, which are rarely seen in fashion stores, were also introduced. In July, a class for making bonsai was held for customers with prior reservations and was fully booked early.

Home fragrance products are also being sold continuously. In June, diffusers from the collaboration between the beauty brand 'Buly' and the Louvre Museum were introduced, and in August, a pop-up featuring incense and diffusers from 'Apotheke' was held.

Kim Deokju, head of Shinsaegae Department Store Boon the Shop, said, "Boon the Shop, Korea's first fashion select shop that has led trends, is aiming to take a step forward by embracing lifestyle as well," adding, "We will continue to evolve into a rapidly changing shopping space that keeps pace with customers' demands."
