[Asia Economy Reporter Wondara] On the 19th, 9 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 were reported in Seoul.
According to Seoul City, from midnight to 6 p.m. on that day, 9 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed within Seoul. The cumulative total of confirmed cases in Seoul is now 5,711.
Among the new confirmed cases, 2 were contacts of confirmed cases from other cities or provinces, 6 were sporadic cases or related to previous cluster infections, and 1 case is still under investigation for the infection route.
However, one of the confirmed cases was a lecturer at a large private academy in Daechi-dong, Gangnam-gu. This lecturer is known to primarily teach students preparing for specialized high schools. The health authorities are tracking the movements of the confirmed case to check for contact with academy staff and students, and will conduct diagnostic tests if necessary.
