[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Yuri] Geumseong Baekjo Housing announced on the 19th that it has been named a Sharing Prestige Company by the Daejeon Community Chest of Korea.
The Sharing Prestige Company is a high-donation program organized by the Community Chest of Korea for companies that have donated more than 100 million KRW since November 2019 or have pledged donations within three years. Geumseong Baekjo is the fourth company to join in Daejeon.
Since December 2019, Geumseong Baekjo has joined as a Silver Regular Member with a donation amount of 300 million KRW. The cumulative sponsorship amount to the Daejeon Community Chest of Korea is approximately 1.16 billion KRW, and separately, Chairman Jeong Seong-wook joined the Honor Society (individual high donors) in 2016.
Geumseong Baekjo has been carrying out various social contribution activities through the Yemi-ji Sarangnanum Volunteer Group. In February, it donated 30 million KRW and quarantine relief supplies through the Red Cross for COVID-19, and through the Community Chest of Korea, it provided red ginseng products worth 50 million KRW as consolation gifts to screening clinics in Daejeon and donated 200 million KRW to support local residents suffering from the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic and monsoon season.
At the Sharing Prestige Company signing ceremony, Chairman Jeong Seong-wook of Geumseong Baekjo said, "I hope this will be of some help to our community, which is struggling due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic."
Jeong Tae-hee, chairman of the Daejeon Community Chest of Korea, said, "Many local companies in Daejeon are working together, so I believe we can overcome this well," and added, "I hope more companies will continue to show their generosity."
